Jose' Vindeola Joins Global's Gulf Coast Region
Global Diving & Salvage, Inc. announces the hiring of Jose’ Vindeola, joining the Gulf Coast Region in the Business Development / Technical Support position. Mr. Vindeola will be essential in providing Global’s current client base with high quality solutions and also stewarding expansion both nationally and abroad.
Ryan Smith, Gulf Coast Region General Manager, states “Jose’s wealth of experience and industry knowledge has already made him a key addition to the Global family. We view his appointment as a sign of our commitment to being a leading maritime service provider. Jose’ brings a diverse technical and business development background that will fit in well with Global. We are excited to have him part of the Gulf Coast team.”
Jose’ Vindeola has cultivated an extensive background within the Maritime Industry, with over 30 years of diving experience in both the Offshore and Inland sectors. He comes to Global Diving & Salvage, Inc. having spent several years in Project Management and Business Development roles.

YMTA Maritime Educational Scholarships - Accepting Applicants
Global is pleased to support the Youth Maritime Training Association and encourages eligible individuals to apply for the Youth Maritime Training Association Scholarship Program.
The 2013 Norm Manly Youth Maritime Training Association (YMTA) Maritime Educational Scholarships are available to students pursuing maritime training and education in community colleges, technical and vocational programs, colleges, universities, maritime academies or other educational institutions. Norm Manly YMTA Scholarships will be awarded in the amounts of $5,000, $3,000, $2,000, 2-$1,000, and $500 in the spring of 2013 to help pay for tuition and books.

Global Welcomes Andy Lawrence, Salvage Engineer
Global Diving & Salvage, Inc. announces the hiring of Andrew Lawrence as Salvage Engineer, based out of the corporate headquarters in Seattle, Washington. As part of the Marine Casualty Response Service Line, Mr. Lawrence will develop salvage plans, provide detailed engineering support, and assist with project management during emergency and routine operations.
Mr. Lawrence served as a Coast Guard officer for eight years, including 5 years at the Coast Guard’s premiere engineering office, the Marine Safety Center. At the Marine Safety Center, Mr. Lawrence served on the Salvage Engineering Response Team, providing rapid engineering support to Coast Guard field units in response to vessel casualties throughout the United States. Mr. Lawrence has a broad range of ship construction knowledge gained by reviewing hundreds of ship designs for stability and structural safety.
“Global Diving and Salvage is pleased to have Andy as a part of the team and provide in-house salvage engineering expertise to the Marine Casualty Division,” states David DeVilbiss, V.P. Marine Casualty Response Service Line. “Global is now able to extend the level of service we can offer our customers, further providing custom solutions to the most difficult of situations.”
Global Welcomes Stephanie Guerzon, Senior Safety Specialist
Global Diving & Salvage, Inc. announces the hiring of Stephanie Guerzon as the Senior Safety Specialist, based out of the corporate headquarters in Seattle, Washington. As part of the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Compliance Group, Mrs. Guerzon will assist project managers with safety planning for projects company-wide, manage, develop, and maintain training schedules to ensure consistency with internal and external regulations and policies.
“Stephanie’s education and experience in environmental and safety compliance as well as her understanding of the maritime industry provide her with the skill set to educate our employees, and to provide training and support to our service lines and regional offices,” says Sarah Burroughs, HSE Compliance Group Manager.
Mrs. Guerzon has spent the last eight years at American President Lines, five of those serving as the Safety Manager. Prior she had worked in other progressing safety, environmental and marine related roles within the industry. She has also sailed on her U.S. Coast Guard Third Mate License. She holds a Bachelors of Science, Business Administration from California Maritime Academy, and has multiple safety accreditations including an Advanced Safety Certificate.
Golf Tournament Raises $60K for Seattle Children's Hospital
We are proud to announce that this year’s event raised $60,000 for Seattle Children’s Hospital, funding the establishment of a blood draw clinic at the Autism Center and continuing the development of a cardiac hybrid surgical suite at the Children’s Heart Center.
This and similar actions increase awareness and greatly advance funding for Seattle Children’s Hospital to achieve their honorable mission. We hope that you once again are able to include this worthwhile event in your charitable giving plans for the coming year. Please mark your calendars for the 7th Annual Global Golf Tournament scheduled for Monday, September 16, 2013 at The Plateau Club in Sammamish, WA.
